Want to have external drive show up as folder in My Documents

I have an external drive that I would like to have show up as a folder under My Documents on Win XP. The reason for doing this is that I'm lazy and it would save several clicks when moving files to the external drive. I can add a shortcut to the My Documents folder but that behaves as a shortcut, not as a folder so it doesn't function as an expandable tree in Windows Explorer or in program file dialog boxes. I want to be able to have the drive look like a folder and act like a folder in every way. Anyone have any ideas on how to make this work? Thanks.

Okay, I figured out how to mount the drive under a folder so all is well.

Right click My Computer > Manage > Disk Management > Right click drive letter > Change Drive Letters and Paths > Add > Mount in NTFS folder > Select an empty folder or create one.
