Would going GTX560 sli be the better route than adding another gtx470?

I currently have the gigabyte OC'd version. I would have to spend another $300 for the same card.

I run a dell 30" 2560x1600 resolution.

Im hearing that the 560 is faster than my current 470.

no any gtx470 card will work. If you allready have a gtx470 , the best route to go is another gtx470 for about 200$.

Edit' the gtx470 has more memory for your 30 inch monitor also.

Thanks for your input. I wouldnt have to get one with the same clock though? The gigabyte is clocked at 700. When i play games that arent sli capable (WoW) would it use the higher clocked card?

It will use the primary card, so if the primary is your overclocked card then yes it will use them.

Or you could simply (attempt to) overclock the other 470 on your own.

I agree. A second 470 would be better than a pair of 560's because of the larger amt. of RAM. The 470's will be hotter and use more power. As long as that's not an issue, then the 470SLI, even a cheaper one as HappyMedium suggests, will be better.

2560x1600 need more than 1gb? I dont think it does. I am running 5760x1200 4x16x max everything with 1.25 no problems.
