Hi everyone

I just transfered my old pc stuff into a new antec 3700bqe, it's pretty quiet, but i am affraid that the hsf is the noisist now... it consist of a collermaster fan and it's heatsink that i got from frys last May.

My system is the following

AMD xp 2400 (non oc)
512 RAM crucial
ECS K7S5A Pro
2 40 gig Maxtor HDs

Well, Anyone can recommend me a new hsf combo befcause I want a quiet system and I dont plan to OC yet, especially with this mobo..

Thanks
Wilson

Thermaltake Silent Boost. It's quiet and performs very well. I'm running my 2500+ at 3200+ with it and max temps under load are in the low 40's. Good luck!

Edit: It's fairly expensive at Newegg, but can be found for less than $30 shipped at Pricewatch.

the gc68 at svc is dirt cheap, and pretty quiet at 28db, under $5 (plus shipping) i dont see how it can be beat for the price if you dont plan on overclocking. and even if you did in the future, it may let you do so a little before needing a larger heatsink/fan.

the volcano 9 there manually adjusts from 17 to 48db, under $20. i had the 7+ a while back and used it for overclocking, wasnt bad at all.

the gladiator 3 does look nice, didnt see any details on it anywhere. probably prefer that (copper heatsink) to the volcano 9 (aluminum) though, and the price is about the same

don't get the Volcano 9; I have it and everyone of them I have heard; while true you can dial it down it has this annoying high pitched whine which is audible if the rest of your equipment is "silent" .... stay away from that piece of junk; its not all that great a cooler unless you crank up the fan speed anyway which defeats the purpose of buying it in the first place.

Coolermaster Aero 7+, it ranges from silent to blow dryer on medium depending on setting. It's pretty quiet at 2700 rpm and keeps my temps from 36-45C idle and nothing over 50C on full load. Otherwise
