want to get my feet wet w/ PHP

I want to get my feet wet with PHP and mySQL. I have an OS X machine that I can use as a server. Any good resources/forums that can help a n00b become a l337 PHP hax0r?

Probably the best resources would be using php/mySQL apps and trying to modify them. I've learned the most out of trying to make mods for phpbb (also see phpbbhacks).

The book that I bought is called 'The PHP Bible', and is quite decent.

Also, a good database manager for MySQL is phpMyAdmin.

And here's a decent knowledgebase for help with MySQL.
