Want to get data plan for my unlocked 2g iphone

I called in and they said I had an unknown phone and couldn't give me the iphone data plan unless i activated through itunes. Could I just tell them I have some other phone that uses edge and it will work? Need help! Thanks

the "iphone data plan" is just the media max plan and 200 txts. If you previous had a razr or other non-smart phone you could add those extras to your account and then pop the SIM into the iPhone and it will work, except for visual voicemail I believe.

The plan for the 1st iPhone is $1 more than another phone from AT&T with unlimited data, and that's before you add the 200 free texts in. How exactly is that gouging people?

IMHO, if you're going to use an iPhone on AT&T, especially if it's not a 3G iPhone, there is no reason to to do it legitimately. Visual voicemail really isn't anything to sneeze at. I find it very useful on my iPhone.

I got the medianet unlimited plan which is 15 buckand it seems to be working fine. I already have the unlimited texting plan
