Want to get a Galaxy S6 for home and VR use. Cheapest method?

When I had the Note 4 and the first Gear VR, my wife and family LOVED it. So much so that they want me to get the new Gear VR. Problem is I have a Nexus 6P now. So, seems like the S6 would be the cheapest Gear VR compatible phone to get. What's the best way to get one for cheap? Carrier locked versions are definitely an option as this is just for home/VR use.
 
I have a first gen VR Gear, there's a cover, so as long as the screen is good, a beat up S6 won't even show.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, should I just be looking for a bad esn cheap sale? If it's just for home use on wifi, I wouldn't need to worry about cellular capabilities.

Edit: So went ahead and did just that. Got one with a bad esn but in flawless physical condition for $175.

Hopefully you don't like the device more than your nexus P. Camera and Screen resolution are top notch!

So you getting the older VR Gear or the Older one?

I bought mine the other day straight from Samsung. Already been charged, just waiting for a shipping email.

Yeah that's seemingly the one place that does claim to have stock. Hopefully they aren't selling stock they dont have though.


I plan on picking up the GearVR, but I might wait until a bit closer to Christmas.
