IMHO however, I prefer functional to cosmetic mods. Eg. for my 06 Lincoln LS - summer (Bridgestone RE960AS) and winter (Michelin X-Ice Xi2) tires, nav headunit (Pioneer Z110BT), SCT XCal3, KKM CAI, Stoptech stainless steel brakelines, ceramic brakepads, DieHard platinum batt (higher CCA and RC).

This is modding done correctly.

Aye 🙂

nothing wrong with any wheels u want, as long as they're not so big that they bottom out. also make sure they're of good quality or they will bend when u hit a big pothole.

also consider a Cold air intake, will give u marginally more power and mileage over stock. an exhaust will only give u 1-2hp when not remapping the ECU.

real carbon fiber body panels are expensive and useless for normal street driving. in my opinion, don't get it unless ur going to bring ur car racing on the track.

generally, people at AT (here) tell u not to mod your car because thats their loser opinion. just like any other person would tell u not to overclock your PC or else ur a loser. Check out other automotive forums for more information.

oh yea, and also don't get the 08 focus, it is down on power and quality and engine durability is def below a civic or a tc if u want sport. or a mazda 3.

'08+ Focus is up slightly on power vs. '05-'07 Focus (non-ST), and up notably on '00-'04 Focus (non-SVT). It's hilarious that you also say engine durability is below a Civic/TC/Mazda3. You don't realize that the 2.0 Duratec motor is shared with the Mazda3i? Jeez.

Also, by personal experience, the 5mt '08 Focus is quicker than an '06+ Civic 5mt, by a pretty notable margin. It should be as well, it's lighter and has equal HP and more torque, deliverable at lower RPMs over a wider powerband to boot. Of course, none of the above cars are really sporty, unless you want a 'sporty' econobox.

One thing that is important though, is that the 4AT auto in the current Focus is an old-school nasty slushbox, and not sporty in any way whatsoever. The Civic auto also gets trashed in reviews. Manual FTW.
