My system hardware set up.
Tyan Tiger 133 Dual processor Board with Dual P III 800 133 Processors
Boots to an Adaptec 2940 U2W Card with a 9 gig SCSI boot disk, SCSI ID 0, also have a 2nd 9 gig SCSI Disk ID1 on same chain.
I want to keep my current configuration as far as leaving the W2K QADV Server on the first SCSI Disk, but I want to Install Mandrake on the machine, and have it run on the second disk.
Some hints people at school told me was to get a 2 gig boot disk and install it on IDE 0, install DOS 6.22 on a FAT Partition, make that the boot disk, C:
Then instal W2K Adv Server on the First SCSI Drive, as D
Then Install Mandrake and Have it on the 2nd SCSI Drive,
When Installing Linux, rather than letting Windows be the boot loader, should I use Grub, LILO, etc?
The person who told me to do this is a newbie to linux as well, and has less practical experience than I do, but reads a lot. Any help, including a lot of "hand holding" would be greatly appreciated.
I am somewhat tired of Windows, and MS bullsh!T. Ready to try open source.
Onceit is running, I want to turn the Linux box into a domain controller and a Mail server for my domain, but that is another topic.
