OK, I'm looking to downsize my desktop's footprint from its current Obsidian 650D to something much smaller. Looking at going mITX for motherboard size. I will be transferring some parts from my current build into the mITX build.

What will transfer, if possible:

Haswell 4770k cpu

GTX 780 (This may be upgraded to either a GTX 780ti or R290x)

Seasonic 860w Platinum ps

Samsung 840 Pro SSD (512GB), WD Black 2TB hd

Noctua NH-U12P SE2 w/2 fans in push/pull (don't want to give this up, either, unless absolutely have to and have equally effective alternative)

New parts:

Asus Max. VI Impact (pretty settled on this board unless someone can make a very convincing argument for something else)

2 x 8GB G. Skill Ripjaw Z DDR3-1866 memory (9-9-9-24 timings at 1.5V)

New case....and this is where I have the biggest need for realistic suggestions. It'll have to house the gpu, ps, and cooler listed above.

Really need to "downsize" without losing any performance. Help? Suggestions for case?

Thanks.

Any miTX case like the Bitfenix Prodigy, Fractal Design Node 304, Cooler Master RC-120, Silverstone SG06B, etc etc will house full size graphics cards and power supplies

Some of those (the Bitfenix Prodigy in particular) are so big that you might as well get a micro-ATX rig instead.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the SG06 is more or less a faceplate swap of the SG05?

I have the SG05 and my 660Ti fits - barely. Manual says it'll take 10.5" GPUs, but it's really more like 10". Some 780s might not make the cut. So choose your components carefully. (!)

Honestly, I don't think this is a very good idea. Off the top of my head I can't think of any mini ITX case worth getting to house those components. Your PSU is longer than 160mm so it won't fit in a Fractal Design Node 304 which is larger than SG05. Prodigy is nearly microATX size externally, and its max. PSU depth is also 160mm.

If you want a smaller case, go microATX, e.g. Cooler Master N200. It's cheap but nice. Dimensions: 445mm x 202mm x 378mm (N200) vs 546mm x 229mm x 521mm (650D)
-> roughly half the volume

Have you looked at the NCASE M1 V2? They are going into production soon and it may do all you want here. You wont get a 860w psu in it but Silverstone does have a SFF 600w coming soon. That should power the big cards no problem. I think its slated for release this summer.

Also check out the Ncase website

Also lehtv has a point about matx as a viable solution. A matx rig is generally cheaper to build than a mitx rig. You get more leg room to to have big things. Look at the Lian-Li V354 as one example.

Also, I don't see the point in getting a $215 motherboard. It's not like you're going to be doing extreme overclocking in a mini-ITX case anyway. A board like the ASRock Z97E-ITX/ac is totally stacked for $140.

I'm not sure which particular Ripjaws Z kit you're looking at, but it's guaranteed to have tall heatspreaders that get in the way, and is probably overpriced. You can pick up a Crucial DDR3 1600 1.35V low-profile kit for $140.
