I ran across this thread over at the nvnews.net forum.

this guy mounted a XP-90 on his PNY 6800GT...

Check out the drop in load temps. From 78C load to 43C load!! lol... good stuff.

That is awesome... Too bad I'm too poor to try anything like that on my PC. Maybe I'll use the stock A64 HSF on my old 9200SE - I bet I could get a wicked OC...

i don't have enough money - i spent it all on th 6800 last week. but it stays idle and 65, which is fine. playing games makes it 74, but nothing serious. one time the fan stopped workiong and my card went to 153 degrees c!!! it was hot! (thats 307 farenheit)

I saw this at anothyer forum. I don't really like how the fan sticks out of the bottom of the case though. It also covers all his PCI slots.

At idle yes. My X800XTPE runs at 39C at idle but shoots up to over 70C under load.

I saw the photo with the XP-90 on that card and just laughed. That's just too cool :)

That's some pretty ingenious modding in my opinion. I wish I had the balls to try something like that. :) I feel like I need a little more knowledge before going that extreme.
