Want to connect my bluetooth phone to my car for music.

I have an aftermarket receiver (Alpine) with a standard 1/8" or 3.5mm jack that I've used for my Ipod for some time but now that I have a cell that has a 2GB micro SD and music capabilities, it'd be kind of nice to just use that and send and not have any cables.

I'd just need a device to receive from my phone via Bluetooth and then have a regular old headphone jack I could plug into.

Is there a such thing out there that'd run off of DC or at least not eat through batteries and not cost a ton of money?

Look into Microsoft Sync on ford vehicles. Nothing out there that does this off the shelf that I know of.

My pioneer p9800bt can connect to a bluetooth device with a2dp profile. No adapter needed!

there are head units out that can do this by themselves. if not that, you can probably find some sort of bt audio adapter set, and just hack at the recieiving end to make it work.

I'd rather not get a new head unit since I paid an arm and a leg for the one I have as it is.

I see Crutchfiled has this and it almost seems like the half on the bottom of the pic would work but don't know if that'd work with my phone's built in bluetooth...

it probably would. if it's bluetooth and it's stereo it is using the A2DP profile. the only problem would be getting your phone paired. I don't know if they would give instructions since it is only meant to be paired with its sending half. chances are it would use a pin code like 0000 or 1234

edit: just checked crutchfield and it seems to be sold out. google "bluetooth stereo receivers" and you should find something that will work for you
