i cant afford the whole switch over to pci-e, i was looking at the cheap gigabyte board k8sn, but i hear bad things that the bios havent been updated, then i wouldnt mind getting the msi neo2, but no one really has it in stock.

what other options would be beneficial to get with a a64 939 3200 or 3400?

i've found the msi neo2 at monarch comp, should i go with soltek or the msi?

which one to get?

Despite problems I've had with Epox in the past, I've been impressed with them recently (last 3 - 4 years)

I finally went back to Epox for the 9NDA3J. I'm glad I did! I got the board from Newegg for $99. It's pretty basic...PS2, 1xCOM, 1xLPT, 4xUSB, 1xGBeLAN, audio, 2xPATA, 2xSATA, 1xFloppy. I could have gotten another couple of SATAs and IEEE1394 if I'd have gone with the 9NDA3+, but it was about $25 more and I don't have a use for the firewire.

PROs = overclocks excellently. 300FSB is No Problem
BIOS has every adjustment I want/need
100% stable and trouble-free

CONs = tends to undervolt. default voltage to Winchester CPU is 1.322 ( BIOS allows up to +.350 so it's not an issue for me )

Bottom line is, I changed from a NF7 and mobile XP 2500+ to a A64 3000+ and 9NDA3J and I couldn't be happier.

is there huge difference for nforce boards instead of the via chip based... performance wise.

you should be used to undervolting coming form nf7:)

I also recommend epox J it's $92 a mwave and has better bios options than MSI. MSI does have better Vdimm though. But $50 extra is'nt worth it. One issue with epox is ugly green if you have case window.

Performance wise there's not much different at all because the memory controller is integrated in the processor.

Just got my Neo2 Platinum and so far I'm happy. I like the BIOS on my Abit i875 board better but I just need somw to learn about AMD/Nforce3 and MSI's BIOS.
