I've got an F-14 Tomcat. It is in decent working order. The rotator lights are not working but I have not even tried to work on them and one of the plasma displays is out. I'd like to replace the display but a replacement plasma is really expensive. Plus, someone already replaced on of the plasmas but he used the wrong plasma. The replacement has a nipple in the glass that keeps it from sitting back correctly. I have half a mind to buy one of the LED replacement boards but those run like $200.

One of my favorites! Those plasma displays are hard to come by. If the capsule itself is "gassy" it's possible to get it refilled with fresh neon. If the inverter is bad that could be fixed with far less effort.

LEDs will restore the scoreboard BUT don't have that neon glow like the original digits. IMHO the only thing that bests that would be nixies! :awe:

i love this thread so much.

Any one of you guys who posted in this thread have any updates of your rig(s)?

I still want to build a virtual table. I actually just realized that I have a 42" TV doing nothing because it just got upgraded. I should go test it with the free pinball FX2 table to see if the input lag isn't too bad.

Can't believe I didn't think of this use before when it got replaced. I may have just sped up my project timeline :awe:

I'll have to post some updates here...not sure where I left off. I current have Fish tales, T2, and a Diner machine. I cleaned up the T2 pretty nicely, polished the playfield and such. Fish tales will be next. I'm looking to get a Ripley's Believe it or not or a LOTR($$$) next. I started bringing all my stuff over from my parents house to my house that I got last October. I've been a little distracted fixing my house.

I plan to at least have T2 up and running for my housewarming party this weekend if not the Fish Tales as well. A full color DMD screen was also just released for Fish Tales too!!

If I ever get some cash, I plan to buy an Addams Family pinball machine.

That, or Mars Attacks.

Very nice collection. I still want some but am afraid it would eat my time away on maintenance.

There is a real art to bumping. I never could master it. Every pinball machine is different too. Some you can move around and never tilt and others tilt at the slightest touch. Hardest part is you have to play the machine to get a feel for how the tilt is going to be.

Depends on how high up one set the tilt mechanism which was just a plumb bob that swung and came into contact with a ring which closed a circuit.

Has anyone tried the new(ish) Wizard of Oz pinball? It is amazing. Has an amazing screen on it and the lighting is fantastic. Great game.

Still kicking myself for not buying a Gottlieb Spin-A-Card machine back in the late 90's when I had the opportunity. Just a straight up old school mechanical score pinball machine I spent way too many hours playing in my misspent youth.

Trying to work a trade to get myself into the modern Stern era!

I brought over my T2 pin from my parents house to my new house and installed a remote battery mod, new hunter killer ship and new right ramp. Plays wonderfully. I had it setup during my housewarming party and it got hammered by the kids, was great to see them enjoy it!

Looks like my Fish Tales has some sort of reset issue though, my brother and niece were playing while I worked on Diner and it kept resetting. That's my favorite game of the bunch so I'll have to track down that voltage drop!

P.S. Diner is probably for sale too ;)
