What is the "safe" operating temp for the T-bird/Duron. In fahrenheit or celsius.

Well, the Thunderbird 1 gig cores are designed to ru @90C MAX. However this is the CORE, and there really is no way to measure inside of the cpu. However, using the via hardware monitor, usually 60C is an upper limit you should stay under.

You are fine with that temp.. anywhere in the 50's is stretching it though.. in particular with the gig T-birds if the chip costs $180 you are better safe than sorry.. if it's a $70 Duron then it doesn't matter nearly as much because it's less of a loss if fried..
