I am currently running a slot1 550e at 5.5 x 162mhz bus @ 1.7v (will run 150mhz bus default voltage). But once I step that voltage up at all the heat in my room becomes untollerable to me, the computer doesn't seem to care thankfully.
My big goal is to get this thing to max out at the full 180mhz bus that my board offers (Asus P3C 2000), without having to sit in a 100+ degree room. Do I go water block? or stay air cooled and vent it? peltiers have already been tried and just make matters worse
Current specs are:
PIII 550e with global win Vos32 and dual 60mm fans
3rd 60mm fan mounted behind the cpu blowing out of the case
80mm case fan pulling air in the front
300w powersupply blowing air out the back
prophet DDR with standard fan
asus P3C 2000 mobo
micron -8e ram (yes pc100, but ram is only running at 120mhz right now, thankyou intel
)
Seagate 10k LVD 9.1gb drive
scsi 10/40x dvd, 8/20x cdr drives
case edge super case (all stainless steel)
