Beef With Burger King Manager Gets Teen Shot

(CBS) NEW YORK A Burger King restaurant manager is being charged with shooting a teenage boy dead after the two argued and the boy spit in the manager's face.

Police say 16-year-old Shaka Walcott and 45-year-old Ronald Johannes had been arguing for more than a week. Police say the teenager returned to the Bronx Burger King Saturday night and was shot several times in the chest by the manager.

Witnesses say Johannes also was injured in the fight and he left the scene while the teen-ager writhed on the ground. Police say Walcott was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. They said Johannes was bleeding from gunshot wounds when he stumbled back to his home, where they arrested him.

Johannes is charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

Customers at the Burger King, however, said Johannes was difficult to deal with and used to kick them out.

Yup.

Johannes is charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

And how the hell is this guy being charged with murder AND manslaughter? Shouldn't it be one or the other?

So did the manager shoot himself as well or was he shot by the teen?

There is no reason for it to be one or the other. The guy shot and killed another person. A crime was committed. Let the grand jury choose which one.

Ummm....you obviously read too fast or don't have very good reading comprehension. Why would this guy be charged twice for the same crime? The crime he committed was either murder OR manslaughter.

I'm glad I'm not the only what who did a WTF on reading that.

This article is missing alot of important stuff, like what the manager is actually charged with. You can't be tried for the same crime twice, even if you're calling it different things.

The guy will obiviously not be convicted of both murder and manslaughter. However when the crime falls along grey lines, you want to leave room for choice.

I think the murder charge is for shooting him, and the manslaughter for leaving him to die. I'm not a lawyer, of course.
