Want Factory settings for my GTX 480

Hello,

I have a system with two GTX 480's in it. In some games the whole screen goes dead when I'm playing and I have to turn the machine off then on again. It's done this for awhile and I found that turning the A/C up fixed the problem abit.

I bought my system ready made from Scan computers and I think they may have overclocked the graphics cards. (I'm not sure) I have been reading reviews to try and work out if my cards are overclocked but can't understand the figures quoted.

In the Nvidia control panel it says this.

Graphics Clock 700
Memory Clock 1848
Processor Clock 1401

What I'd like to know is what is the standard clock speeds for the 480 GTX?

Then I can set it back to the standard clock or maybe underclock it.

Thanks for any help.

Those are the standard clocks unfortunately. I think those cards might be throttling due to heat i.e. crashing your computer. You might want to check the temperature of your video cards and/or open you computer case and see if you see any build up of dust (might be lots of it).

Thanks for confirming the clock speeds are standard. I may try just underclocking them as a temporary solution. It turns out they are still under waranty so if I work out which one (or both) is the problem I can send them back.

I have a 1000 Watt PSU in the machine I don't remeber what brand it is. CORSAIR I think.

Weird thing is not every game will cause the problem. It's only happend once in hundred of hours of playing BFBC on max settings. Yet Defense Grid and COD MW2 have levels that make it happen in minutes.
