Want CRX looking new, what can I do?

I asked a friend this question and he said the only thing that can be done is a touch up and a paintjob, yearly. I didn't think this would look as good as I wanted it to.

Anyways, I got to thinking and I had remembered those old crappy trucks with the squares of metal patches on them, is it possible I could do that to my CRX (CRX's get little rust spots over each rear wheel)? Then conceal it with a brand new paint job?

If anyone can tip me off to the best solution, please let me know. : )

BTW, money is not an issue.

if money is not an issue, have the car torn down to the frame, all the rust/dents/etc fixed and the car professionally painted. You'll spend probably $25k, but it'll look brand new, with show quality paint.

It's best to find one without rust in the first place (head south, young man), and buff it a few times per year. Otherwise it's not worth it.

If money is not an issue, then get a better car my friend. If I had a CRX, I wouldn't be caring about looks.

Wow, all a**holes. Are you all crappy truck with patches on them owners? Sorry for insulting you guys.

Can I get any non-sarcastic suggestions by the members that are actually helpful?

Lets set the price for less than $1,000.

i dont know if you could do much with $1000... perhaps one of the entry level paint job but I dont recommend those. Maybe you can just have the whole car detailed... engine and everything else...or you could just save some more and get a whole new paint job. :)

OK, asshole, I don?t know why I?m replying after a comment like that, but your Civic CRX has rust and you want it to look new? Bodywork is anything but cheap. It requires a fair bit of artistic skill, not to mention a lot of patience. Time = money. You don't have any money, so why don't you learn how to learn how to the bodywork on your $750 car yourself?

Have fun.

Otherwise, wax the paint, working carefully around the rust. It will look better than it did before, and will come in at way under your price range. For $1000, you're asking for something that's not possible, unless you fill the holes yourself.

You respond that way to a few jokes and expect some real help now? Goodluck!

Money went from "not an issue" to "$1000 maximum"

I think you need to reevaluate "not an issue" You could spend $1000 on new brakes for the car, let alone all new paint....
