Hello,
I'm building a new system this week and wanted comments. Think I did about
as well as i could with the amount i wanted to spend. I will OC it if possible.

MB INTEL 845|5P3D ULTRA-ARU 6398MSI 1 $124.00

To which I'm adding a local case and a MSI 8850 128 MB Geforce3 ti200 with VIVO

Thanks.

Looks pretty good. What sound card are you gonna be using? Don't tell me onboard sound or I'm gonna have to bite your head off. 🙂 I would go with a different brand of RAM if I were you. OCZ PC2700 is just hand picked PC2100 that is proven to overclock that high. If you want PC2700, then get samsung, corsair, or mushkin. Save some money, and get a 64MB GeForce 3 Ti 200. The extra 64MB on the 128MB card, provides no extra performance. I'm also, personally not too fond of that motherboard. I like the ASUS and Gigabyte Pentium 4 motherboards.

I was gonna get a 64mb ti200,but the brand i wanted (MSI) has recently sold out on that model (i want the vivo).
besides, i got the 128 version for only 155, which is still cheaper than most other brands.
I also read several very good reviews of the MSI 945 ultra, liked the usb 2.0, and their smart bios update feature.
And, i'm not trying to max overclock it or anything.
Also, given the status of the various specs on pc2700, buying the ocz was about the same price as name brand, and
came with nice heat spreaders, so what the hell.
Yes, i'm going to try the onboard sound. It's not the infamous ac97 chip, so maybe it wont eat up cpu. If not I'll probably
go with some sort of cheap SB product (spit)
