All half.com coupons.

$5 off from $10 (new customers), also has VHS, DVD, Games.

[Later]

I was told even legitimate capons are not allowed to post here? MOD? Is that ture?

I am deleting them all.

Have fun..:) These were harmless $5 off $10 book coupons. Sigh.

Yes, it is true that coupon and promottional numbers are not allowed. The reason has nothing to do with law suits. When they were allowed, many people posted coupon numbers that the vendors intended for limited distribution, as well as blatantly posting ways to get around the restrictions stated on them, such as single usage.

That is fraud, which we do not condone. When we asked people not to make such posts, they flamed us for it.

The moderators are volunteers. We do not have time for that kind of attitude, and we certainly don't need the abuse. We have no way of knowing which coupons are intended for open use by everyone and which are restricted, so we banned all of them.

Since then, we have experimented with allowing some specific coupons to be posted where the member explicitly stated that the coupon was for general use and posted a link to the open source for it. Such a link must be directly to the coupon source, and NOT through a referral site.

Thanks for understanding.

Hot Deals
Post the hottest prices and deals you've found on the net in the AnandTech Hot Deals forum. Please stick to deals you've found, not items you are seeking. This is NOT a shopping service. No dealers and no SPAM (IE: muli-level marketing or pay-to-surf or pay-for-referral schemes) allowed! Please DO NOT POST COUPON NUMBERS or PROMOTIONAL CODES.

I thought AnandTech Hot Deals rules meant ?no illegal coupons?.

I have hard time understanding banning coupons that are provided by the merchants itself.

I have deleted the coupon code. MOD? Could be so kind to explain why coupons provided by the merchants are not accepted here?

:(

lavie: I'm not a mod, but my understanding is because posting coupons tends to cause some form of abuse, and Anandtech does not want to be involved with any lawsuits that claim coupon fraud.

No need to post coupons. Most of us know (or should know) where to obtain them since I see the "go here for the coupon" link all the time.
