I don't think some of you understand the problem in China.

Many people are killed for having dissenting opinions.

I honestly urge any of you that think China is fairly judging people and then taking their organs to look up Falun Gong, and at least read the Wikipedia article.

Or look up their labor camps in the news.

China doesn't like independent thinking and free voices. If you speak out against the government these could end up being your organs.

I'm not saying it is wrong to use organs that would otherwise be put to waste necessarily, but I don't trust that these people are getting due process in China.

Some of you have way too much faith in the justice system of the Chinese. 0.0

Hang on a sec. The Chinese justice (or lack thereof) has no bearing on whether I agree with using the organs after the execution. The fact is that the person would be executed regardless, you might as well get some use of the organs. I think we all know the kind of "justice" China dispenses, but using the organs after execution seems logical to me.

This was known for years. I read a story about the falun gong being arrested and used for organ harvesting. The families tried to get international help and nobody gave a damn. Nobody wants to piss off china.

Good idea...too bad we don't execute people in this country anymore...but pay millions to keep them locked him. China has the right idea - force these scum bags to give back to society.

There are three problems with doing something like that here.
The first problem is that our "humane" forms of execution likely leave organs un-usable.
The second issue is diseases in the inmates, you don't want to transplant organs from someone who has HIV, Hep-C or some other nasty thing.
The third is the same issue China has, how to keep it from becoming a human tissue racket.

If you could get past those three issues then I see no problem with using executed inmates for organ transplants. If death is chosen for their punishment then giving life to others is a great re-payment to society.

The 3 big problems...

our "humane" Yeah? What's so humane with a bullet to the back of the head? I'd rather have that then the electric chair.

HIV? Don't you think they could run a blood test? How hard would this be?

third? You can't and won't too much demand.

Not to mention it's the best method of "recycling" for a greener earth.

The reason I'm opposed to this is because it encourages more executions. I don't believe in an ideal situation where the decision to execute a person occurs soley on the basis of their crime. A 'harvest the organs of those who are executed' policy will encourage the execution of more and more people for the sake of harvesting more and more organs.
