Well, if you're like me and missed the other Epson 880 deals, you can go to Staples where it's being sold for $79.98, with an instant coupon good for $10 off (coupon code is on the page, but you need to manually
enter it when you check out). Shipping is free over $50, but you pay your local tax. This was in stock in my zip code, but may not be in yours. Expires 9/22/01.

Of course you can add $20 of other items and use another coupon to take $20 off $100, then use this coupon, too if you want. Though, at the bottom of the page it says not valid with any other offer, so this might not work.

Exactly. The Staples in my region didn't have any in the stores that I went to. Correction: each store had one - the display model which they they would knock $6.90 off (a whopping 10%) for a printer that has been touched by just about everyone in the store along with a questionable amount of ink left in them. Needless to say, I'm sure some fool will pick one up for $63, though. The warehouse that covers the metro-D.C. area was down 192 printers as of yesterday, so lots of people from this area will have trouble locating the printer, plus several that ordered them from this area, may never receive their orders. Since this printer is listed @ $69 in this week's flyer at Staples, the guy I spoke with indicated that Staples might offer a substitute printer for $69 towards the end of the week. If you go to your local Staples and don't see any in stock, pull out the flyer and ask them about a substitute for the 880 - It never hurts to ask.

I check one of my Costo stores in my area (I have 5 within 30 minutes of where I live) and I didn't see any Epson printers at that location. However, there were 2 models of HP printers.

I think this printer is a great printer. I have an 860 which is *almost* a year old, but the print heads were clogged. Instead of fiddling with it, I contacted Epson and they are sending out a replacement printer (could be new, could be a refurb) via UPS 2-day deliver. Plus, they include pre-paid shipping information to get the printer back to them. Additionally, compatible ink cartridges can be found on the 'Net for under $5.00 each. These features alone make this printer indespensible.
