want a home server

I want a home server to store my docs, mail, and software. I want to network it to my existing PII 350 Mhz PC running win98SE. That way I can reimage the old PC anytime I want or need to and I can learn something about servers and networking. I need suggestions for a machine to be a basic server. I was thinking about building one but that's too technical right now. I looked at barebones kits at pricewatch but I'm not sure where I'm going with this. I have a kvm switch and a linksys network kit, i just need the server machine.

Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks

You don't need to setup a server to accomplish simple volume backups.

I would suggest shopping for a new desktop computer, as the one you are using is quite dated. Then you can try setting up the P2 as a network server.
