I'm looking for a game to play on my lappy with the Radeon 5650. I'm thinking something not so graphics heavy, like an RTS or something. But if there's something out there that would be great on the 5650, lemme know. Native res is 1920x1200.

tropico, evil genius, humble bundle. defense grid maybe.

Download OnLive and demo a few games. I was playing arkham asylum on my netbook yesterday and it runs damn smooth considering how shitty it is. Only problem is you have to be online while playing the games.

No computer spec other than network adapter speed should matter for OnLive...

That GPU really is fast enough to handle most games on low settings. Shogun 2 should run ok.

You don't need to always run at 1080p, you can always lower the resolution a bit if you need to.

I have an Envy 14 with 5650 (@ 1366x768) and have played Borderlands, Amnesia, Deus Ex: HUman Revolution, Dawn of War II, and many more games. 5650 isn't bad at all, as long as you lower the settings most games should play decent. Try to drop the res down to 1440x900 (keeping the same 16:10 aspect ratio as your native res).

Torchlight works great with even intel HD2000 graphics.

King's Bounty collection might be OK

Anything from Gog.com except The Witcher 1-2

Rage will be released in 3 weeks and undoubtedly will have both the best performance and graphics possible for that rig.

Most games should run at least okay, and you can always lower the resolution or quality settings. A good tip is to search for the game on Tweak Guides or some other site that does detailed benchmarks at different settings to see which options have a major effect on performance and which you can leave cranked up without a performance hit. It was very helpful to me for certain games. I've found that with many games, the most performance-hungry effects are shadows and antialiasing, but it varies.

What sorts of games do you like? Steam has a sale this weekend on Star Wars games; a lot of them are older and should run perfectly on your laptop.
