want a BIG LCD

i want a LCD. im sick of the 17 inch crt ive had for years. its time to move up. i was looking at the hp 2335 that anand reviewed but i want something tall and wide. i will be using it for gaming and writing the occasional college paper. something sub 900 would be nice

Dell's 2405 is 1920x1200 and can pivot to portrait operation. That'll teach you "tall".

Diagonal size is 24 inches...with some simple math you could calculate the height/width dimensions (since you know the aspect ratio is 16:10), but I'm too lazy to do so. 😛

They'll probably be listed on Dell's site though...

I'd love a 2405FPW... nearly $1000 for a monitor is a lot though. I could build another whole computer for that much.

i figure if im gonna be using it for 5-7 years then 1000 isnt too much when ya look at it. ive looked at some comments and some reviews ona few sites and some people said theres alot of ghosting while others said there isnt? whats the deal

There is always ghosting on LCD screens, it just depends on how sensitive you are to ghosting when it comes to if you will actually notice it or not.

Check out some LCD's at a local computer store, see if you can detect ghosting, then look on the internet to compare those LCD's to the one from Dell that you want.
