Wanna see e-mail spammers get pwned?

Dateline NBC is on now (East coast) and that's the topic tonight. They're hunting down these anonymous spammers and pwning them on camera. hehehehe 🙂

I can't quite explain why spam angers me like it does, but it really, really pisses me off. I think I could almost physically accost these a$$wipes if I met them in person and they gave me some kind of smart a$$ed remark about what they do. I wish they would follow these guys home and post their home addresses so I could sign them up for every single regular junk mail list known to human kind. Think they'd get the point?

My e-mail address got ripped from one of those sites where you have to "register" to read the articles. Now I get hundreds of Viagra, presc meds, porn solicitations each week. I That really, really pisses me off.

I love how everyone in the chain claims that "it's against company policy" to spam people with this stuff but, they're not responsible if it happens.

Oh yeah, putting a camera in their face is really stopping the spammers cold.

Maybe not stopping them cold, but if people around the globe start recognizing these people in public or maybe beating them to death in their homes like they did in Russia, then maybe these a$$holes will stop what they're doing because the risk is increased.

What really gets me is the fact that for awhile (I dunno if it's still happening, haven't heard much on it recently) people that shared files using P2P programs were being hunted down routinely and sued thousands of dollars, while hundreds (if not thousands) of companies constantly bombard people with adware, spyware, spam, and pop-ups, which can lead to costly repairs for those who don't know much about computers (i.e. the average user), and next to nothing has been done about it by the government. Wow, that was a run-on sentence wasn't it?

You know, I have to agree with this. Why aren't ISPs trying to track these people down and suing them? I know Microsoft, AOL and a few others recently have made strides in this area but much, much more needs to be done. Where IS our legal system? There are real damages out there from spam, you'd think lawyers would be chomping at the bit to find and sue these guys into oblivion.

Excellent statement. If government wanted to, they could hunt these guys down and end it.

Prism, yes the RIAA IS still hunting down kids for sharing files over the 'net.

Bah. I was hoping they'd find them and then the reporter would just run up and kick them in the balls.

That's quality television.

Anyone remember the Daily Show skit on spammers?

my ex roommate had a spam server and time warner cable would shut him down like every day and call him to threaten him. i hate spam too, i used to unplug his cable every time i walked by his room to boot him off the internet. the reason they keep on doing it is because some idiots actually click on the spam and buy the products... i remember he made a couple hundred a day for a while.
