Wanna hear a good guitarist jamming?

I was actually at this show. Awesome Israeli band, the guitarist is an orthodox Jewish man, about 50 something years old with a really wild beard. He's no guitar god, but he' s just damn good. I've seen them before, these guys can freaking rock a joint. Really tight band too. Here's a small clip.

Check it out, you may hate it, you may not. Personally, I love this stuff. Clip

All joking aside, this guy is barely average at best, unless that clip was just of him stoned, drunk, and half asleep.

Lol, I assure you that's not remotely close the the truth. This guy is an awesome guitarist. It may not come across well in this clip. I've seen him play enough times and I know enough about guitar playing.

(This is me playing. Granted, I'm not very good, but I know wtf I'm seeing and hearing. I'd show you more clips, but most of them are with Hebrew singing that will probably throw you off.)

Wicked clip, that I loved 😉 permission to record some lead tracks over that and repost?
Based on your playing, I would think that you would know your guitarists...perhaps that clip was indeed just not a good indicator of the guys skill.

Sure, knock yourself out.
Be sure to post it here when you're finished so I can hear it! 🙂

how did you learn ThePresence?
Dude, I'm not that good, lol. I'm self taught.

I didn't say you were good...just wondering heh. learn from any books or anything?

Books helped me out at the begining. I've also closely observed and spoke to other people who play and picked up pointers that way.

6 years or so.

OP check this band out. I consider these guys insane musicians. Sure maybe not your "genre" of choice, and yes they are all about being fast, but you cannot deny the talent they have. The lead guitarist was a unix admin and said that some of his inspiration for the solo's and songs are old video game tunes.

They sound pretty good. I just wish they'd slow it down a bit. 🙂

That's some pretty hot shred. Thanks.

He was playing some really simple pentatonic riffs, and I'm pretty sure the guitar is out of tune (or the flue is...one of the two).

Fair, but not spectcular 🙁
