I didn't care much for them, but I also don't know why they suddenly got a retrospective hate around 2010~ which was about a decade after their peak and they were already relatively becoming obscure.

Same. I liked it when it came out (I was in 7th? grade). Then went through a ~19 year period during which I thought they ruined music and sucked. Now like them again, along with “actual good” music. Interestingly most of my musician friends who make “actual good” music really like them again as well.

Yeah, I was just lurking ATOT at the time & didn't join til a year later. Great angsty memories rocking out to this album driving to school haha!

Yeah I was pretty depressed back then, sure that was part of what drew me to it. I liked their first album too but I listened to this one a ton as I had a summer job doing maintenance work which was mostly solo.

I had tickets to see them, show was supposed to be a month after Chester died, really sad his depression caught up with him.
