Rodriguez ready to chat with fans
Join the discussion on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. ET

On Sept. 8, baseball fans all over the world will have a chance to speak directly to Yankees superstar Alex Rodriguez, who will take part in an online chat.
Rodriguez will participate in the chat to commemorate the launch of the third baseman's new official Web site, AROD.com. The event is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. ET.

A-Rod will take questions from fans, giving them an opportunity to delve into his life both on and off the field. To participate in the event, fans must register at Yankees.com or MLB.com.

"I'm excited to interact with the fans, to give them a new avenue to communicate with me," Rodriguez said. "To be able to do it without the subjectiveness of any middleman, it will give me a chance to speak from my heart to my fans."

The new site, AROD.com, will feature highlights and photo galleries of Rodriguez's career, both past and present, as well as a journal written by A-Rod himself.

"I've been very involved with the creation of the site. I think it's going to be very exciting, very up-to-date," Rodriguez said. "The technology, the colors, the modern look of it is up to par with anything I've ever seen. I had a Web site back in the day, and I'm really excited for both the fans and for myself to have this kind of outlet."
