I am sure you guys know he means a system...

but if you can't differentiate between a system and cpu, you can leave it to the professionals like US ;)

Way to help out someone new, Budman.

Elekid, here's a link to help you out:

Ars guide to system assembly

If you're serious about building your own, spend a month just reading everything you can get your hands on. Stick around the forum and see what parts people are recommending, then do your own research. Once you build your own you'll never buy a prebuilt again.

Budman, you might want to invest in a grammar checker. ;)

Ya think? Do you need to persist in being a smartass because you know something the original poster didn't?

Am I being a smartass because I like things to be called what they are?

A CPU is a central processing unit.

Do you call a lightbulb the Sun?

You must be those types of people who call remote controls, converters.;)

Reminds me of when I was dropping my parents computer off @ Gateway today. These two women were asking the tech support guy many questions, and one lady asked the tech support guy this: "How come, when ever I check to see how much memory I have, the little pie chart say I have 90% left. But, when I open AOL, I get a low memory message and I have to close my scanner in order to log on. Why is the computer lying to me?"

I couldn't contain myself, so I had to walk out and look @ Gateway's computers......
