I have three computers in the house right now. One is connected to the ethernet output on the homeportal, the other two through the HPNA. The computer hooked up to the ethernet output works fine. However, the two computers on HPNA have very shakey connections and often "break" the connection for the computer on the ethernet. any help and education is appreciated.

When I used hpna more, I often found that just unplugging and replugging my phone cords could clear up problems. HPNA is less reliable than ethernet; cheap or defective hpna adapters might add to your problems. You might have better luck with other brands; on ebay you can sometimes find relatively inexpensive netgear and linksys hpna devices. But first, just try the plugging and unplugging cords bit.

Also, is dsl involved here? You may want to check to make sure you have any filters set up correctly. You can check this out: HPNA and filters

Running the network over phone lines or power lines normally results in much less reliable connections than just running a wire, that's the nature of the beast. :)
