Hi All,

Wondering if anyone knows of a nice little app/utility that can give me stress info/real-time data on available bandwidth on a T1 Link.

The Problem is I have no control over or information on these circuits (2 of them I think) and I am trying to find out how much bandwidth we can use or is available for use...in other words trying to identify a bottleneck. We are using an app on a server, call it Point C, that is accessed over a T1 but is running exceptionally slow to the point that the app times out.

The set up is like this:

Point A (my office) to Point B = T1. Point B (middle point) to Point C (app server). I have no info on what the link is between Point B and Point C but I think it is a T1 too. I would like to test the actual link speed from point A to point C to see if we have a dedicated T1 or if it is being Fractioned between B & C. If anyone knows of a utility that might help me I would be grateful.

Thanks in advance!

QCheck from NetIQ.com will give you that information. You can also check your provisioning from the provider.

Good Luck

qcheck or even just FTP.

my first guess would be the app is not made to run over a WAN and was developed for a LAN only environment. And now it has troubles over low speed lines like T1s.

-edit- see signature. :)
