I already have a tablet like that; not quite as good, but close enough. If I didn't, I'd consider getting one if I didn't have to deal with Walmart on black Friday.

I see more entertainment value in taking $40 and lighting it on fire.

Maybe for someone's kid, but still I predict most of the these cheap-o tablets will end up shoved in a drawer never to see the light of day inside of a few months.

Just say no.
PPeople buying crap n then blame Android being crap

Market control is a huge thing in consumer perception. Apple's been careful about this over the years...all of their machines are expensive, especially the computers, but even the "low-end" models are still pretty decent compared to the bargain-basement computers they sell, so for most people, the Apple experience is a positive thing.

I see a lot of complaints about this on both computers & tablets...people will buy $249 laptops expecting them to be awesome 3D portable gaming rigs, or buy a cheap tablet expecting them to be as smooth as an iPad. It's pay to play...invest in good hardware & you'll have a much better experience. But most non-technical shoppers only see the pricetag as the bottom line, so it is what it is.
