Wow, you have only met one person in your life who was racist and they were Mexican plus you were even nice to a black man that the Mexican was mean to? Please, just stop. The next thing you will be telling me is that your best friend is black...lol!

Give it up, it ain't working.

I am your stereo typical computer programmer when it comes to being social. So, I don't go out and meet a lot of people. It doesn't really matter if you believe me or not as it doesn't change the fact that what I said is true. Oh an my best friend isn't black, so no reason to LOL. Not really even sure who I would call my best friend, my wife I guess. As for throughout my life. I had black friends in elementary and middle. Not as much in high school. No longer in the same classes as much, so I lost touch with several white and black friends. One or two in college. CpSc at my school didn't have many (any?) blacks at my grade level. Plenty of other non whites though.

How so? Maybe he's a genuinely nice, fair-minded person who hangs with like-minded people. Way too much broad brushing going on in here.

he certainly could be, I'm just saying that it's hard to know... not every racist is like my 90 year-old great aunt, who starts in about the jews and the wops moving into the neighborhood after half a drink.

just because you haven't witnessed obvious racism in casual acquaintances in public settings doesn't exactly mean you've never met anyone who was racist.

Ebay pulls all their confederate flag crap, but hey, you can still buy Nazi and KKK memorabilia. Shiny object mentality FTL.

got a link? Nazi memorabilia has been banned on ebay for a long time and afaik, they remove such auctions as fast as they can find them.

But these days there are too many spouting that all white people are racist, which is pure BS. A white person looking slightly cross-eyed in the general direction of a black person is considered racist. Too many are using 'racism' as a wedge to drive people further apart rather than trying to find common ground and unite.

Allowed
  • Stamps, letters, and envelopes displaying Nazi postmarks (must comply with the currency and stamp policy)
  • Currency issued by the Nazi German government, including military scripts
  • Historically accurate WWII military model kits that have Nazi symbols
You will notice you won't find anything that would amount to propaganda relating to Nazi's or the KKK on there. No flags, outfits, shirts, posters etc...

True but neither does it mean you have meet some one that is racist. The only way to know is if they say something or do something and "intend" it to be racist. I assume most people are not racist and general nice, and that is why I said it. If you are racist, but never act on it, I guess you aren't hurting anyone. Just don't let it build up and go on a shooting spree.

Old people I would let slide, because it is hard to change something you have done all of your life. If a 90 year old calls a black person the N word, It may just be habit and they may mean no harm by it. My mom remembers in school being told to call them Negros (you can remove it if that word is not allowed here) instead of blacks, because they didn't like being called blacks. I personally wouldn't find it offense if an older person called me a cracker, but if a kid did it I would question them why they said it. Hopefully they just picked it up from their grandmother and didn't mean in harm by it.

So many Lulz in this post. How does this forum attract so many people that have so little self awareness.

FYI, cracker does not have the same historical context as calling someone a Ni**er.

Most of these Confederate Generals graduated from West Point Military Academy and served in the US Army during the Mexican-American and Seminole wars. General Gordon later became a US Senator and the Governor of Georgia.

it makes me think of back in the 00's, when they banned selling digital currency/items in MMO... auctions are user generated and people would still post sales of Everquest gold, but Ebay would shut them down as soon as the auction got reported and probably banned serial offenders.

In the past 15 years or so (pre 9/11) how many people have been killed in the name of the Allah as compared to the confederate flag?
I wanted to bring this up for the lulz:

http://nyti.ms/1QPrwNH
Homegrown Radicals More Deadly Than Jihadis in U.S.

But the breakdown of extremist ideologies behind those attacks may come as a surprise. Since Sept. 11, 2001, nearly twice as many people have been killed by white supremacists, antigovernment fanatics and other non-Muslim extremists than by radical Muslims: 48 have been killed by extremists who are not Muslim, compared with 26 by self-proclaimed jihadists, according to a count by New America, a Washington research center.

How many things do we name after Benedict Arnold?

So you ascribe to the 'all whities are racist pigs' mindset? Yeah, that attitude is gonna go a long way to reducing racial tensions.

You idiots sure like to take something someone says and put your own twist on it before regurgitating it. Since you are obviously a very simple minded individual, let me spell it out for you. I have been alive for over 55 years now and I met my first racist as a very young child (7 years old). Since then, I have met many more of them. I have more than a few who are customers of mine! IOW, they are everywhere. Here in my area most of them are called Republicans. Anyone who is an adult and says what CU said regarding racists is a liar, a simpleton or blind and deaf. Racists are everywhere and they can be any color but in my experience most are white.

Now is that a bit easier for you to understand or should I use smaller words?
