Walmart is stupid

Underneath the outer cardboard sleeve, there is a sicker. This sticker advertises that I can now purchase Superman Returns from Walmart's Video Download for 1.97.

I just bough the full blown DVD, why would I want to purchase the same movie at a lower resolution and detail again? Idiots.

Incidentally, I have no problem PMing the Video Download code to someone. First Come, First serve though.

what format is the download in? maybe it was meant for PMPs? for people who don't know how to rip, compress/encode to their portables.

Because other people don't understand how to get movies from DVDs to computers or portable devices.

I don't know. I'm not too familiar with Walmart's Video Download service.

I should clarify. The sticker has a code, similar to a CD key, that one enters at www.walmart.com/superman to attain the discount. I still haven't received any PM for the code, and I'm likely going to just throw it away unless someone wants it.

Edit - Code is gone.

Eh, not a bad idea if you ask me. I'd gladly pay the typical $13 for a new release DVD, and pay another $2 for a format to throw around. Like HN asked, though, it all depends on the format. If it's some proprietary Walmart video player bullsh!t, then I retract my previous statement 🙂.

I have cats that have a few favorite toys that cause us grief.

paper towels and toilet paper: we keep them in our cupboards. Sometimes they get in.

CD and DVD's. I buy a lot of music and DVD's. I have had at least 3 dozen lost to either my cats, a scratch, stolen, etc...Am I allowed to make my own backups or will the copy protection police do a 5am raid on my house?

For $2 and a legal download to digital media I would be game. I would make sure I kept the freaking label though in these times as proof I did buy rights to download it even though I have a receipt and the original case/dead disc.
