I was hunting for the Compaq Celeron 566 @OD B&M last night, and could not get one in three stores. This came up just right in time. It's a better choice that the campaq model, first the TFT screen is better than HPA, and its 100MHz bus beat 66MHz of compaq's. Only drawback is the HD size, well, if I can get 10% back for that, it is not that bad. And certainly I will put some more memeory to this baby.

I did not notice that they changed the description and added "4.3GB formatted capacity" when I place the order. The item was in my saved cart and I read it when I put it there but didn't bother to read it again when I pulled it out this time. Does that qualify me for the 10% off? (grin evily).

rickforrest, there is a rebate available through hp IF you purchase a qualifying printer also. If you are creative and go through staples using one of the coupons floating around and then send in the rebate you don't really end up making $50 but you will get a printer for nearly free.

Has anyone had any luck finding a battery for these. The only one I can find is on the HP website for $149. I'm going to Hawaii in June and I know the battery won't last the entire flight, especialy if I am watching a DVD.

You do need to buy a printer, scanner or camera to get the $50 rebate.

As for batteries the only place I've found that sells them is the HP website.

total $885+shipping+tax(CA) would sell for maybe $850 shipped, ive still got to think this one over a bit heh, but let me know what you think.

reason for selling: its an awesome laptop, just I don't use it as much as I thought, and my CC bills are mounting *shrug*. I sold my iPAQ to buy it, and think im just going to buy a cheap pda and pay off some bills with the proceeds. I have 4 computers at home hehe, only so much time.

only complaint about the laptop is a lithium ion battery wouldn't kill it, plus the 64 mb included is a little weak, hence my 128mb upgrade.
