That's weird, I replied to this thread and my post never showed up. I wrote about my great experience on Black Friday...ah well. Dunno what happened.

Those half dozen other guys were there for atmosphere, like watching deer grazing while your standing in line.

It is pretty stupid that they tell you to bring your phone so they can scan in the barcode, yet, the hand scanner can't scan the darn phone!

You shouldn't be shopping at Walmart anyway. Personally, I value my time, sanity, and self-respect way too much to ever set foot in the place.

The biggest issue I have with Walmart is how they have like 40 cash aisles, but never more than 2 open at once. Other than that, if I need a lot of misc items it's probably the easiest place to go.

I don't mind Wal-Mart that much. It's a bit trashy, but sometimes it's the right place to go. I do have to say, it takes at least 10 minutes to checkout which is ridiculous.

The same can be said about any store I have been into this past month, Menards, Meijers, Target, Walmart, Costco, Lowes, all have tons of lanes, but only a handful open.

There's a reason they have such low prices, and it isn't so they can splurge on things like customer service. Bitching about the service at WalMart is like complaining that your McRib was previously frozen. It's supposed to be, because being poor is supposed to be shitty. It's the height of entitlement mentality to expect good, or even middling, service when you're paying bottom dollar.

But hey, I hate WalMart, so kudos on writing them a bad review.

I still can't figure out why Target hasn't blown Walmart away. Could it really be that the fact that it's like $0.5-$0.10 cheaper per item than Target?

Yeah, the experience is mildly traumatic. Better to go elsewhere unless you are desperate.

Or the fact that it's not everywhere. No Target (or any of the other stores mentioned) here, not even sure where the closest is. As far as alternatives to Walmart there is a Costco about 300km from here that I know of for sure.

Walmart is everywhere.

At our Walmart you rarely hear English spoken. Last time I was in there, which has been a few years now, kids were running all over trashing the place. When this kid knocked a bunch of glass candle jars off a shelf and ran into my cart, causing it to knock over a few other things, I said something to his mother. She just gave me this evil glare and stormed off, muttering something in Spanish. From that point on I never based my decision to shop somewhere on price alone. I can go get pleasantly screwed somewhere else without the trauma and stress. ;)

You really should change your avatar, I keep thinking that you're Harvey.

Happy to hear I'm not the only one.

I'll change it if you can find a nice picture of Emily Bett Rickards (from Arrow) with glasses on
