Wallpaper locked on work laptop..

My cousin's work laptop is stuck with his company's logo on there, it can't be changed through the basic methods, such as desktop properties, finding a picture in IE and setting the background as that image, and trying to find the file that is the desktop image.

What I did then was go into the registry, and under current_user/control_panel/desktop and change the wallpaper settings from there. However that doesn't modify the background, intead it does remove the current background.

Any other ways around this?

Contact the IT department and tell them you want a different wallpaper. If they've set it up one way, they're not going to appreciate it being tampered with. Yeah I know, it's only wallpaper, but you know those crazy IT people 😀

It's a laptop and he travels a lot..not sure how he would contact IT.

Try to run gpedit.msc and see if you can find the setting that disables changing the wallpaper.
