I've always kept my wallet in my left rear pocket, but have noticed most others keeping in their right rear. Is there an advantage for one side over the other?

I used to keep it in the left rear pocket, but now it goes in the front left pocket.

I gained 35 pounds now I have my own "natural cushion" back there.

I'm right handed but the wallet is in the left rear. Also with no money like Total Refected Power.

Huh, I am right-handed and it never even occurred to me to put it on the left. Just seems easier/faster on the right.

right rear pocket, but I'm left handed, so there goes bigsmooth's theory :) If Im wearing cargo shorts, the wallet goes in the right cargo pocket. Cash stays in the wallet.

*sigh* well, the Bigsmooth Axiom of Left- or Right- Handedness and the Direct Correlation to the Wallet-Pocket Dynamic® is hereby withdrawn. :)

No pocket, just in a small bag that's around your waist, dunno how they are called in English. Bavarian expression is "Wimmerl"=small pimple ;)

nick: That would probably be referred to as a "buttpack" though there are other names as well.

I keep mine in BOTH my left rear and right rear pockets. I carry two different wallets -- one with cash and debit card (which is retrieved most often) and the other has ID, credit cards, business cards, etc. Both are thus rather small (ID one is less than 1/2 inch thick and it's the larger). When I read some articles saying that bulky wallets in one back pocket could lead to back problems, I started to worry. Plus, I just hate carrying a large wallet since it messes up those well fitted clothes. :)

I did use a money clip for awhile, but since I couldn't put my debit card in it (it's magnetic -- no more card!), I switched over to what amounts to a folded piece of leather with a metal bill holder/clip inside and a plastic covered pocket for my debit card on the outside. Works for me.

Either right rear or right front (right rear if I think about it, right front if I'm in a hurry). I'm right handed, and it just seems normal to be holding a wallet with your dominant hand, and it's annoying to reach across your body to put it away.

front pockets preferably (since stealing it from the front pocket is more work for the avg. pick pocket)

I'm on the subway most of the time though, and when you're sitting down, it'd take a sh!itload of skill to get pickpocketed from your rear pocket, but if you take a nap, you can easily get pickpocketed from your front pockets (which often open slightly to the sides).
