wall/ceiling painting advice!

Hey all, could use some of your interior design advice here. I have a section of the room like so in the attached images. The wall will be soft iris and the ceiling white. My idea was to have the support beam on the ceiling (goes from wall to wall) match the color of the ceiling and the section that curves down towards the wall also match the white color. However looking at it from different angles it does look a little bit odd? I also considered coloring that whole block soft iris as well to match the wall but the area it curves up into the ceiling might not look so hot? What do you all think?

So your colors are white and not-quite-white? I guess it makes sense to me to do both the beam and slanted area the same as the ceiling then.

Personally I like bolder/more contrasty color schemes. :\

Beam=white

Angled section (stair way?)= wall color.

I agree but a second application definitely made the iris stronger and not as soft as I found out from the other rooms. Here's a shot of the hallway outside.
