I work on the 20th floor. I have started to walk up and down the stairs. I guess it is a good way for a small daily work out. my coworkers give me a disbelieved look tho.

How many of you do this?

I get plenty of exercise rolling out of bed in the morning. Why would anyone in their right mind want to stress their body any more than that?

Our building is only 4 stories but I use the stairs all the time. About 10 trips a day between various floors.

I only have two flights of stairs at work :(

I can't believe the number of people who take the elevators.

Because they'd like to live long enough to enjoy retirement :disgust:

i'd like to (15 floors), but the doors are locked from the stairwell :( you can enter the stairwell, but you can get onto the floor (outside of the first floor).

I am not a fire marshal, but that sounds questionable from a safety standpoint.

Yeah, sprinting up several flights a few times a day is some good, cheap, quick exercise. It'll give you a nice oxygen debt for a little while and burn up some of that deskjob ass-lard.

One of our clinical buildings does the same thing. The building is open to the public, it doesn't have any security guards up front. It's near a low income neighborhood. You do not want deadbeats hiding in the stairwell attacking women. The clinic is on the ground floor, while the rest of the building is occupied by offices. The employees have keys to the stairwell doors. If you don't work in the building, you have no business being in the stairwell. You can use the elevators if you have an appointment though.

I love the stairs. I try to not look condescendingly at the fatasses who take the elevator for one stinkin' floor.

I walk the stairs everyday. There's about 5 steps from the parking lot up to my office.

I work on the 42nd floor. I run up backwards while pumping by briefcase and Starbucks over my head.

I used to do that when I was working. Would walk up to the 20th floor from the 5th floor. Good exercise. Very tiring.

At 30, my right knee wouldn't let me do that.

To you though, good work. I usually find an excuse to go for a walk every two hours where I work.
