Anyone still watching this show? Figured I would start a thread for those that still do. It’s no secret that this will be Rick Grimes’ final season, but something tells he won’t get killed off.

Here we go!

Not bad last night, Good for Maggie, about time. New show runner Angela Kang seems like a step in the right direction. Dialog much improved but the main theme seems to remain the same, that people are the problem. Need my typical 3 episodes to judge the season tho.

Negan is still alive as we knew. Hope they dont bring him back as the big bad but its looking that way. Maybe they will surprise me.

Disagree, Negan has been the only reason to keep watching for me. Everything else up until he showed up was boring, and he finally brought some intensity back into a show that got stagnant. Then people whined that he was too violent, so they pussied up the show again to make him less menacing... and here I am bored with the show again. Glenn getting his head flattened was the first time in a long time the show had generated an emotion from me, and the outcry from people not wanting to see such things shows I wasn't the only one that had a strong reaction. The writers catered to those who didn't want that kind of intensity, and dialed it back for the worse.

I agree with their theme of people being the problem. After an initial focus on killing zombies, if a zombie apocalypse (or whatever SHTF scenario you wanna think of) happened it would be a struggle against people acting nefariously. I totally agree with them that people would be the problem.

I liked last night's episode and was looking forward to it immensely after getting fed up with the amount of stupid shit and lame characters on Fear. God I hated that "MAKE YOU STRONG" woman from Fear; good riddance Mo-Mo wasted her.

And good to see snake, scum, scoundrel Gregory get smoked by muh lady Maggie. That sniveling shady coward had it coming.

Looking forward to the rest of the season! I also agree that I don't think Rick will be killed off and he'll leave in some other way. I mean it's certainly possible they'll kill him off, but I tend to think they won't.

As someone who stopped watching this show years ago but still see the promos for it during BCS, I find it very odd that they are promoting this season by spoiling the end of the season that Rick is not going to be around anymore.

I also LOL @ them giving Rick the trendy hipster beard look.

I think one of many people that crossed her path would have killed her ass long before Morgan sort of killed her. Morgan is the only reason i started watching Fear the walking dead again. I wanted to see all of the original characters die. but that hasn't happened yet. I'm not a fan of the wheel chair character either. early on, sure, i just find it hard to believe he'd still be alive at this point.

but i'm getting off topic. I haven't watched the new walking dead episode yet. probably will get to it tonight. may have to go back and watch the last episode from last season.

It was spoiled online long before they ran promos for it, so I imagine they just said "fuck it" and started advertising that way.

My prediction: Negan will become the new Rick.

Ive thought about this for a while. While their goals might have been similar their methods of getting there are 180 out. Ive had enough of Negan in any form but with him listed in the credits Im sure he is going to play some part.

Do you think anyone who knew Glenn would follow him or forgive him? Or imprisoned by him? They would have to kill off the entire original crew. Oh yeah, wait, this isnt reality. Lets all sing Kumbaya.

Yesterday’s episode was pretty good! Lots of questions raised by Jadis’ turn and who she was talking to. Nice setup of the saviors payback by the Oceanside crew as well. Things are definitely picking up!

rotten tomatoes rated season 9 extremely well. Allegedly a bunch of professional reviewers have seen the whole season and said it picks up the pace and takes things in an interesting direction, as opposed to the last 8 years of basically repeating the formula.

I liked last night's episode but my co-worker thought it was boring. Although it seems like if there's isn't a bunch of zombie killing or gun battles he'll say "it was boring" so take that FWIW.

I'm definitely curious who Jadis is talking to. She mentioned a helicopter too. I didn't like Jadis until that episode where she and Negan tussled and she bound him (and brought him to Rick? I forgot what happened) and it was the first episode where she wasn't dressed like a weird ass and dang, those tight jeans were definitely a complement. Now I like the garbage lady. And she got rid of that horrid Dumb & Dumber haircut too, lol.

Also, Maggie <3

ALL the episodes are "boring". Not one of them is an action-packed extravaganza. Even the action episodes are boring. But they are generally watchable even though some seasons are more interesting than others.

Good episode yesterday, although I didn't like how things were not really settled between Rick and Daryl. Yes, they had shared their true thoughts to each other, but never had the chance to come to some sort of agreement before splitting up. Other than that, we had some great dialogue here with Negan - damn he's obsessed with his bat!

Looking forward to next weeks' episode- the finale for Rick Grimes!

To be honest I've started losing interest in Walking Dead ever since The Governor. Walking Dead started falling into very predictable two season arcs. Que finding new safe place previous season (call it season 0), introduce new villain in season 1 who suddenly threatens newfound safe place, destroy safe place and leave end of season 1 at a cliffhanger, kill villain in season 2, set up new safe place for the upcoming season. Rinse and repeat. They did this with Governor, and are doing it with Negan too. Frankly, this predictable pattern is boring to watch playing out over and over again.

Although I do have to say, the last few episodes of season 9 are making me curious how the "Negan Way" is going to play out. Finally some change.

Please tell me how Rick fell off of his horse so easily. Come on. As long as he has been riding in this series?

Yea, a bad plot device. Also, why were more of the walkers not tempted/drawn to follow the noisy dirt bike?

Oh, I like the new intro.
Yes!

a. No, he's not really a long time rider. b. Caught off guard by a spooked horse can throw experienced riders off. c. His landing on the ground was well handled. Unfortunately there was the rebar there too.
Yea, a bad plot device. Also, why were more of the walkers not tempted/drawn to follow the noisy dirt bike?
Nitpicking. Speed of the bike quickly made it not a target. Earlier in this and previous shows, it was discussed about multiple herds.

I found season 7 boring and watched in DVR for work purposes. 8 was better but still DVR watching.
9; I'm back to watching live Sunday nights. Much better show this season so far by far.

At least there is more realism, gas is scarce as are bullets.

Gas should have been scarce a while ago. Especially with Ethanol mixed in with it nation wide. Cars with working batteries should also have been scarce. The number of times you see them pick a random car somewhere, covered in dust, and it fires right up........ugh.

Maybe cars can carry the zombie virus too and whenever they or their batteries die they reanimate. You ever think of that? Huh? Huh? Makes perfect sense if you apply a little logic to it.
