Wal*Mart return clerk must be a retard

I went to Wal * Mart to just look around the store. I found an opened CD-R spindle. I took off the top to check 'em out. I wanted to do some microwave experiment with a whole spindle of CD and a cheap spindle of CD's would be nice. About twenty of the CD has been recorded and had titles written on the discs.

Walmart staff must be a retard. They didn't bother checking not only when they took returns, but when they put returned merchandise back on the shelf for resale.

I wonder who's the retard.........the one accepting the returned disc or the one who's about to microwave a whole spindle of disc??

You choose. :D

Why do you need to buy more CD's to microwave? I thought you had untold millions of them that you bought before when you thought prices were going up?

That actually sounds like a lot of fun, if I was willing to risk stinking up the entire apartment I'd love to microwave a spindle of CDR's.

Nothing moronic about it.

I'm not going to microwave my good expensive CDR's. I found a spindle of half used CD's and was hoping to get a extreme discount on it like $4 out the door for the whole spindle.

that's the point. Who would want to stink up the whole apt with burnt CDs other than...ugh.....him?? I would have tried it if the CDs are GIVEN FREE and NOT AT HOME. :)

what happens when you put a cdr in a microwave?
I might have to bring one in to work tomorrow to use on their microwave.

The surface of the disc arcs blue, & holes are burned in the data layer. If you leave it in for more than just a few seconds (absolutely no more than 5) the plastic coating will burn leaving a nasty smell in the microwave.

This is what happened with one CD experiment. I have no idea how it turns out with a spindle containing 50discs and that's why I want to try it.

Ahhh, well I thought I'd suggest using your others because I vaguely remember your thread about CDR's going bad after so many years and you having too many to use before then.

I find that very offensive as I work there. Wal~mart supports my computer addiction and just because there is a lot of low income people who shop at Wal~mart (because we have the cheapest stuff), doesn't mean there the employees there suck. I make a lot more money than someone flipping burgers.

This is what happens when you give money to a kid with no concept of the value of money.

whoa, a lightbulb will turn on in the microwave!?!? awesome!!! y'know, nuking cd-r's sounds kinda fun... and yes, I do buy fireworks :D as for the wal-mart dude... he probably was retarded. I thought wal-mart had a good program for hiring mentally challanged people, so you never know if he was or not. either way, they made a serious mistake taking back all-ready written on CD-R's

Apparently you can. Since they have a shelf life of ~5 years I believe it was (unburned that is). I think Jerboy can help me out with the timespan though.
