"buy from us, we are only half as evil as they are"

LOL, reminds me of that movie "Where the Heart is" I always used to call it "Wal-MArt baby" because I could never remember the name. Wal-mart is teh evil for sure, but aren't like 80% of big corporations?

At least Wal mart is only 10% less evil than Best Buy.

Wal-Mart is evil, they are killing the American Economy in order to grow their profits. In many ways they are biting the hand that feeds them. I guess that is why they are moving overseas , so they can gut another economy in the name of their profit. America is all spent up (metaphoricly), time to find new ground......

With out jobs it will not matter how cheap something is, no one will be able to afford it. And the claim Wal-Mart is creating jobs is BS, the kill the good paying jobs at factories and replace them with low paying jobs at Wal-Mart. It is True, check out the PBS Doccumentary. Walmart forced a factory with high paying jobs $14+ an hour in Ohio to close and then they say ok, we will create new jobs in your town by opeing up a walmart with jobs that payed $6-7 an hour. EVIL

Someone's gotta sell the retail goods, the low price leader wins. Is Target less evil than Walmart, no, not at all. I can pretty confidently say Walmart wages > Targets. Do you really expect Walmart to pay $14/hour salaries to retail level workers?

Its more like its hurting the 3rd-world countries than us...

Course, there's only 1 walmart close to me.
So I don't shop there.

I go to Sears 🙂

Hell, all retail chains are evil. At Blockbuster, we pay our CSRs 7-8 bucks an hour. How can anyone who works full-time in retail afford to live?

umm, i work at a walmart distribution center and make $13.85 starting off.......so, yes they pay $14 to retail level workers...?

anyway, my BIG problem is that all the complaints against walmart (the organized comoplaints) are from unions complaining about how wal-mart is anti-union. I personally happen to agree with wal-mart's positoin on this and thus don't trust much of what I will be hearing because the organizaiton that produced the film is heavily union supported. i hate unions (the big and bloated ones).

This feels like a repost for some reason...

Anyway here is an example of how Walmart is good for America:
Walmart was great in helping out relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina and set an example to other corporations on how to help out in disaster relief.

-Walmart donated $20 million in cash donations.
-Sent 100 truckloads of free merchandise.
-Brought in food for 100,000 meals.
-Promised a job for every one of its displaced workers including helping to relocate them.
-Basic necessitites and even drug prescriptions were given out free for those in need in affected regions.

And Walmart was better prepared for Katrina than the government and FEMA. It had trucks with supplies ready even before the hurricane hit and rushed in setting up small distribution centers where it gave out much needed supplies such as diapers and food to surviving residents. They also kept their stores that still remained open, about 100 out of 130 or so, and well stocked so that returning residents could still buy things.

Yes, low prices are evil. Opening opportunities for work for poor people in other countries is evil.
