What kind of upside down world do you live in where republicans are progressives and democrats are against government intervention in the market? D:
Actually, Carter (a Democrat) was less anti-market than Reagan (a Republican) and Clinton (a Democrat) was less anti-market than George W Bush (Republican).
Also, don't forget that the Republicans support Keystone XL which is produced by a company using eminent domain while the Democratic President doesn't. In addition to that, don't forget that the first progressive corporatist was TJR, who was a Republican before he left it. TJR is also held in high esteem by many (if not most) Republicans today.
The Democrats have almost always hated the market less than the Republicans have. No Republican nominee was even 95% pro-market. The best you got was Harding at 90%. Coolidge would be next best at 75%. Coolidge gave us the predecessor to the FCC. All the rest (except Goldwater who would be a 70%) were less than 50% pro-market.
Craig belongs in the Republican Party even more than he belongs in the Democratic Party since he hates the market so much.
