Wal-Mart BF deals: Edit to brag, they pricematched Best Buy's $149 EMachine with a loaded EMachine!

Just received my BF ad from W-M and was somewhat disappointed. Polaroid 15" LCD TV for about $198 and HP notebook for $488 or so. Then checked another store about 30 miles away. Their price was $178 on the LCD and $378 on the notebook! From what I remember the specds were ther same. I think I could drive that far to save over $100.

Edited to brag:

I have my own bragging to do. I, thank goodness, missed the notebook. I say thank goodness because they had an Emachine desktop that was loaded with 512 meg ram, AMD 3000+ 64 bit or whatever processor (was not an AMD person so am not familiar with how they are named), dvd/rw, 80 gig drive, good video card, and 17" flat screen monitor that was priced at a markdowned price of $500. I asked if they would match the price of the one at Best Buy that had a lower speed processor, 256 meg ram, lower level video card, and only a cd/rw (as I recall) that Best Buy had priced at 149 with very few per store. The person I asked at 5 a.m. said no, so i went on my way. Later I went back through and the asst mgr was helping some guy who asked if they would pricematch. They had 2 in stock and I put my hand on one as he made up his mind. He said he would do it!!! Then the fart who asked said he would take both and I said the hell you will, so we about got into a fist fight. Turned out they had 3, so the greedy bastrd took two. But, what a machine for 149!

Moral: Do not assume prices are the same from store to store.

Now the ad includes a 42" plasma for $997.

Correction to post:

Talked to local Wal-Mart and they said there were many pricing mistakes made in the circulars. They have corrected prices in the computer and all stores will supposedly charge the same, so the notebook should be $378 everywhere it is available and so forth.

Where did you get this ad? In the newspaper? USPS mail? I haven't seen anything except the "preview" scans so far.

Can anyone else view their circular online now? It shows me the first page but when I go to click I get no internal pages.

Still works for me, but now you can go to walmart.com and enter your zip on their home page to see the ad.

Yes. It is $378 at the closest store to your zip. Are you clicking the link above the first page of the circular to open it??

Darn Firewall was blocking it. Yup, I see $378. Thanks again.

So let me ask, how many of the laptops do you think each store is actually going to have??????10?100? Just wondering since many other stores list they have like 10 only, but Walmart usually stacks stuff to the ceiling:)

The link above is:

I click that and it just opens to a blank page on both ie and firefox...hmm...

I followed your link and it took me right to your store. When I created the link above I used the broadband option given. Maybe you need the slower connection. If this stuff does not work email me using my email addy shown in my profile and I will forward my email from WM to you.

Can anyone tell what type of Plasma this will be and any reviews?

They also have the Venture Portable DVD/CD player for $68.

Are you seeing more than one page of electronics? That's all I'm getting. And the 42" Plasma link doesn't work for me either. Which brand/model is it?

Wallmart.com has several at the <$1500 price. It could be any of those, or maybe a special purchase. Anyone have more info?

I see no details or model numbers.

Anyone?

Don't bother. Walmart cashiers aren't nearly as hot as Target's.

Wal-Mart online carries more than one Polaroid 42" plasma. The cheapest is about 1500 best I recall and is EDTV, but there is also another that is over 2 grand ($2500 if I remember) that is HDTV.

One interesting thing about the one for BF indicates it is available online as well as in the store, so maybe it can also be ordered for the $997 price between the 5-11 hours.

For me, when I look at the picture on the flyer, the name on the front is Viore.
