I think "© 2001 America Online, Inc." refers to the fact that you get AOL IM with the package. I doubt this service has anything else to do with AOL.

http://www.neucomm.com/ has unlimited dialup (no email, usenet, etc. just dialup) for $8.95 per month. Straight DUN. I have been using it for a couple months and am very happy. Has went down 1 evening in those 2 months. Always connect at 52k.

Guess that's CUZ..... AOL re-packages the Compuserve shell for ALL the bundled deals for Gateway, Dell, etc.
THAT's why they bought Compuserve and re-wrote it to be similar and work in conjunction with AOL Network~~~

Yes, CompuServe __IS__ AOL. So, of course you're getting AOL. Just because they call it something different.

This is old news people. Where have some of you been?

Ok I talked to the tech support person on the phone. This is basically another version of AOL for walmart. Basically you dial up to all the aol numbers, as if you had AOL.

However, there is no online e-mail checking or other stuff like you get at www.aol.com.

Anybody know if compuserve is blocked by anandtech forums like AOL is?

Anybody knowif this will be blocked like AOL is?

No local access for my area, but they offer an 800 number for a 28.8 connect for $9.94. Also, quote "members will be surcharged 10 cents per minute, or $6.00 per hour, for the entire time they are connected using this number (even during your free trial period)".

Bummer!
