So there I was in the checkout line at Wal-Mart, with a few people infront of me.
I was 5th in line.
An average looking lady next in front of me. Maybe 65-68 years old?
In front of her, another lady, maybe 35 -ish.
The lady 35 had a prescription already paid for in her hand, besides the basket of things she was buying.
The lady directly in front of me, the 65 year old, looked at the lady 35 and said "oh.. your prescription reminds me I too have a prescription to pick up at the pharmacy".
The lady 35 says " well you better get it now before Obama's healthcare won't let you get it".
The 65 year old lady says "what are you talking about?".
35 year old replies "well haven?t your heard? If Obama gets his way, all seniors on Medicare will have to prove they are productive citizens, in order to get Medicare, healthcare or any drugs".
The 65 year old lady just looked at the 35 year old, amazed.
Then this 35 year old went on to add "and Obama is going to only allow families to have a total of two children. If anyone gets pregnant with a third, they will be forced to abort".

The 65 year old lady asks "where did you get this?".
The 35 year old replies "don't you watch Fox News?".

I thought OH MY FREAKING GOD.
Who are these suckers that eat up all this crap?
What is it with them?
Are they really THAT stupid?

Then I thought, GOD, these are people allowed to vote.
They are allowed to pick presidents.
They are allowed to vote on issues like Gay marriage rights.
Their warped views actually have an impact on others lives.

What can you say???

And as a postnote funny, the 35 year old, carrying her paid drug prescription in her hand,
when she was actually at the checkout and talking to the clerk, she started complaining
that the pharmacy was told by her insurance to only fill 15 days, or just half of her medication.
The 35 year old was pissed her insurance co. did not approve her usual 30 day supply, only 15 days. And this 35 year old gripes "and they charged me the same co-pay for 15 pills that I usually pay for 30 pills".
The clerk just gave this blank look, commenting "well that doesn?t sound right".
And the 35 year old replies "well I can't call them until monday to find out why they only approved 15 days. I always get 30 days usually".

Now... Im thinking, yeah lady... hope you enjoy your insurance for profit plan.... (dumb ass)

God save us, one and all, from the sampled minded. But in reality, I think we are all doomed...

Well I guess, someone SAID "Fox News" so I guess that makes this about Fox News. And since it happened at a Wal-Mart I guess they are involved too..

I doubt that anyone can find Fox News saying anything like this ever.. What we have is 2 stupid people saying stupid things.

Exactly, there are idiots on both sides. Remember the "Obama is going to pay for my mortgage and my gas!" lady? I'm sure there are just as many on the other side of the fence thinking that Obama will pay for all their health care needs at zero cost to them.

And just because the lady said she heard it on Fox News doesn't mean that 1) Fox News said it and 2) That she correctly understood what they were saying if they said anything remotely close to it.

Troll thread

I was once at Dillards and noticed two people in line. One person in the mind 70's and the other around 30.

70 year old: Did you hear the news?
30 year old: What news?
70 year old: Everyone is going to get Health Care for free
30 year old: Wow, really?
70 year old: Yepp
30 year old: So how is it free?
70 year old: I dunno, Obama said so
30 year old: Nothing is free, we will be paying a larger tax to provide the Health Care
70 year old: Nahhh, Obama said it was free, those damn Republicans want me to die
30 year old: *facepalm*

That mentality sounds a lot like my neighbors back home. 100% Fox News Republicans to the core.

It really is amazing sometimes. I remember them being completely livid at Bob Riley (our governor) for reinterpreting the law in AL regarding property taxes. He had been the first governor to do so despite every governor for decades interpreting the law to mean that property tax reevaluations were to be done once per term. Riley moved it up to an annual basis. They protested, they wrote letters to the editor, visited with their representatives in the state legislature, etc. etc. etc. to complain about things Riley had done. But when push came to shove, they got behind Riley 100% come election time because "Republicans are Pro-Life Christians". /facepalm. In AL, even the Democrats are pro-life for the most part. I swear, a Republican can run for dog catcher down here and still win by having that "Pro-Life" stamp on his campaign sign...despite it having NOTHING to do with the position deals with. It baffles me sometimes...

No worse than running Democrat in states like NY, in order to get elected. Daniel Patrick Moynihan was one of the best senators that state has ever seen, and was elected on the Demo ticket.....but he leaned more center than left, sometimes more to the right than the left. He just knew that in order to get elected, he'd have to do it as a Donkey.

Oh, and I'm shocked that no one has come out openly yet and called shens on the OP. ;)

There's so much irony - "sample minded".

The OP does admit to shipping at Walmart.

This train just keeps on rolling.

As for the OP, he saw stupid people who watch Fox News! There's clearly a connection.

sportage, instead of standing by silently and then ranting about this later, you would have done a whole lot more good straightening out the 35 yo right away.

Fox news is the 'link' folks use to convince what they say is accurate.

I listened to almost all of the Town Hall meetings on the health care issue on C-Span and can't imagine how folks can say what they do when in black and white is the HR or S bills. They say what they say.

Barney Franks TH meeting was incredible. From pictures of Obama doctored to resemble Hitler to constant interruptions calling Barney a liar as he was reading from the Bill. He was actually quoting and they still called him a liar. It just don't matter what the facts are folks are lead to believe as fact total fabrication they get from some source that they accept. They look no further and argue that to do so requires them to read lies. They are no fools, they say! It is Amazing...

It is normal for people to stretch the truth and spread misinformation, when they want to oppose a particular political ideology. I learned this by watching the actions of the democratic leadership for the last decade.

Anything goes, anything.

These were probably the same idiots responsible for electing O'Bammah. Be careful what you wish for. If Older people start fearing O'Bammah, that may be his doom. There are an awful lot of old people that the democratic party try to keep in line by scaring them to death.

FNE, you're the typical Fox News viewer, the connection couldn't be more air tight.

You are absolutely right. Every one lies or stretches the truth to suit their wants. I trust what folks say if what they say is irrelevant to me. Otherwise, I find out what the truth is and if I can't do that, oh well...
I always listen for on point counter argument but folks are crafty. And getting more crafty the higher the office. It seems there is a direct relationship between the office sought and the capability to be crafty. All other things being equal, the more capable the crafty the easier the journey.
