Waking up to record with VMC or XPMC?

Thinking about building a HTPC with VMC or XPMC and wondering: Is there is a way to have the machine wake up to record programming?

If so, which does it better?

VMC, from what I remember, will wake up 5 minutes before a show is set to record, if it's in sleep mode. I'm not sure about XPMC.

Not sure how many minutes, but that is correct, it wakes up to record and then goes back to sleep when done (after the specified time in your settings). Mine has been working this way since December without any problems.

The only issue I've seen is manually waking the machine from sleep when Media Center wasn't closed before going to sleep. Vista MCE will hang and sometimes require a hard shut down.
