Wake on LAN reliability

I'm having trouble with my media server. I have it setup to wake on lan. I have a special app that will send the magic packet. It worked for a few hours. Now, I can't get it to start up via this method. The server is located in the attic so I'd like to get this working. It is NOT a heat issue. It's stays between 60-80F here. It seems to behave just like sleep mode does on every computer I've ever owned. It will work as long the machine was powered up within the last few hours.

Thoughts?
